Covid-19 policies & Interest Groups

09/19/2021 8:00 AM

All Members -

Your Board of Directors are all very thankful that you decided to join our Club during the 2021-2022 TVWC Club Year.   Covid-19 is not going away;  therefore our Club will be adhering to CDC, State and our vendors Covid compliance requirements this year.  Each venue may or may not have requirements as it relates to Covid.

We understand that Interest Group activities are a key reason why you may have joined our club.  They provide a great way to get to know our neighbors and make closer friends in a smaller group setting while sharing common interests.  Our Interest Group Leaders will determine if, when and how they are moving forward with their groups. This depends upon the type of group and the risk to members who attend.  Some groups are easier to meet during COVID, such as walking or bicycling groups.  Others are more difficult, such as cards, games and many other of our social groups.  Your Interest Group Leaders are being creative by having cooking lessons and book clubs meet on Zoom, other groups are having their members bring their own drinks, snacks and even dice to play Bunco.

Please, make sure when signing-up for interest groups, that you read their descriptions closely.  They will tell you:

  • If the group is open to new/additional members or closed.
  • If the group is meeting in person or on Zoom.
  • Frequency of the meeting.
  • Or if they are still "on-hold" until Covid numbers decrease.

If you have any questions about a group, please reach out directly to the group leader!  If you don't remember your group leader's name, just click this link, and find your interest group and drop the group leader an email by clicking on their name!

Please remember that there are no required meetings or interest group events.  You are the only one who can decide whether you should or should not attend.

Thanks again for your support!

Interest Group Activities During Covid-19

10/10/2020

All Members -

Your Board of Directors are all very thankful that you decided to join our Club during the 2020-2021 TVWC Club Year.   We are moving forward with Club activities while complying with CDC guidelines.  Social distancing and the wearing of masks are part of our lives today and will be for a while.  We want are doing everything we can for the safety of our members.

Interest Group activities are a key reason why ladies join our club.  It provides a way to get to know our neighbors and make closer friends, in smaller groups, while sharing common interests.  Our Interest Group Leaders will determine if and when they are comfortable with moving forward with their groups. This depends upon the type of group and the risk to members who attend.  Some groups were easier to re-start, such as walking or bicycling groups.  Others are more difficult, such as cards, games, other social groups.  Your Interest Group Leaders are being creative by having cooking lessons and book clubs meet on Zoom, other groups are having their members bringing their own drinks, snacks and even dice to play Bunco.

With that said, there are many groups still not comfortable re-starting their groups at this time.  All group leaders will be reaching out to all of their members letting you know when they plan to begin the fun.   If you have any questions about a group, please reach out directly to the group leader!  If you don remember your group leader's name, just click this link, and find your interest group and drop the group leader an email by clicking on their name!

Thanks again for your support!

TVWC President's COVID-19 Update

Club Re-opens to groups of 50 or less WITH CDC Restrictions

06/04/2020 1:24 PM

Hello everyone. I hope this email finds you well, safe and staying healthy. I don't know about you but there has been so much information and news about guidelines, stats, and data that it is overwhelming to me at times. It has indeed been and continues to be an unprecedented time in our lives.

The good news is things are improving and therefore, effective June 5th at 12:01am, the state of Florida will move into "Phase 2" Safe. Smart. Step-by-Step. Plan for Florida's Recovery. In this phase, restrictions for groups gathering will increase from 10 to 50 people. All persons in Florida are encouraged to continue to follow appropriate social distancing and safety protocols issued by the CDC and OSHA. These include such things as wearing a mask, coughing/sneezing into arm or a tissue to immediately be discarded, washing hands, disinfecting surfaces, and the big one we all need to practice...don't touch your face.

What does this mean for you and the Tierra Verde Women's Club?

The board has discussed and approved that starting tomorrow, interest groups meeting over the summer can resume as long as gatherings do not exceed 50 people AND they are following appropriate social distancing safety protocols. IMPORTANT: Individuals with underlying medical conditions are strongly encouraged to avoid crowds and take measures to limit the risk of exposure to COVID-19. If you are not comfortable attending, then kindly decline. Remember it is YOUR decision to participate based on your health.

Your TVWC board has been working hard and will meet again next Monday to continuing planning for the 2020-21 year which we hope will be closer to "normal".

It will be wonderful to begin seeing friends face-to-face again. But let's remember that our safety and health needs to come first during this time.

Blessings and good health to you all,

Jane Moore
